a new football season kicks off in england!!!!

I just saw my team Chelsea loose out the community shield match to Manchester united. I’m definitely devastated, Chelsea straight from a loosing streak of pre season friendly matches in Germany. Who would have thought after a double of premier league and the F.A cup Chelsea would start the new season so badly. I mean most of the midfield has been on an exodus out of the London outfit, Ballack to Bayren Leverkusen, Joe Cole to Liverpool from where we snatched up Yossi Benayoun. And deco just left to play in Brazil, along with Juliano Belleti. And I don’t see any big names coming in to replace the void left by them! But that’s good news for supporters of other clubs.
Gunners too look in bad shape going into the start of a new season. No Gallas, no Eduardo and Fabregas looks unsettled. Liverpool may bring back Bill Shankley from the dead, but Liverpool cannot progress back into the once “big four” league. Now they have to get past the talented spurs, big spending Manchester city and possibly their merry side rivals everton.
Manchester united look in good shape but my observation shows that they won today only because Hilario is not really a near good replacement to Cech.
And Chelsea’s once water tight defense is now leaking goals, and not really in comfortable numbers. They made two brilliant signings. Javier Hernadez one of the best buys of the year. But they really ought to set a retirement age for both players and manager. The golden generation has been just silver for over two decades now. The crucial midfielders for Manchester united are or above 35 years of age. One would think that’s would slow them down, but no Scholes was obviously the hardest working player on the pitch and I cannot say that about any of the others, gigs is well past his age and Neville when he plays is not really the great defender he once used to be.
Amid all this problems Manchester united seem to get the right mix of age and experience, Fabio and Rafel da silva twins playing fullback on either side of the pitch, the Brazilians are two of the brightest young prospects, they got it all pace for pace, enough physicality for their age, and they use their head better than guys, twice their age. And with Nani, Rooney, Berbatov, and macheda the future looks bright. And Sir Alex Fegurson has no intention of quitting any time soon. I say he should jump ship when he can do that with his head held high. The competition is going to be tough and I’m not totally sure he is going to be successful this year when Chelsea is in full form and with a few reinforcements to the midfield. Thus braclays premier league kicks for another year, and my money is always going to be on the true London – Chelsea.
